I finally saw it. Wow.
It was moving, without being sappy. It was intensely real, without manipulating emotions. When Wladyslaw was removed from the events in the street, I was also removed. This was a movie about him, and we saw the suffering and pain through his eyes. Roman Polanski did an amazing job of reinforcing this idea through his camera work and editing. The Academy was correct in its assessment of this film.
I went with Lea and Nicole - it was nice hanging out with them. It's been a long time... aka, January of 2002, when we last hung out as a group. I liked it.

I'm lusting after this man. I think it's the combination of the horrid nose, the ridiculously beautiful eyes, and the burning intensity.
I need to see the Pianist. I pine, I burn...
Oh, I went to see Stomp with the whole ATPS crew. Smart people with scholarships... funny, funny. I went in Nels' car with Lea and a couple of girls I know from Thematic Option. The musical itself was absolutely amazing. Who knew that you could do such amazing things with trash cans, brooms, and... flexible pipes?! Man, I've decided that the drumline should model itself after this musical next year. It'd be pretty damn awesome, if I say so myself. Vogue and Bobby were there... maybe they'll be inspired.

The Oscar Race of 2003 (or is it 2002?)
I just want to say, I'm a big fan of the pomp and circumstance surrounding this self-congratulatory Hollywood program. I'm really glad they kept the Oscars going this year, especially with all the hoopla concerning the war. I wasn't a big fan of the ABC cut-ins - I think they overlapped some of Steve Martin's commentary. Okay, you know my life is somewhat disturbed if I'm more fascinated with STEVE MARTIN than WAR. Good grief - hopefully I'm not really this shallow or horrible.
Michael Moore... WOOOWEEEEE. Sorry, I lapsed into ultra-hick Texan for a second there. I agree with what he said. But I'm not too sure about that delivery.
Dresses... hrm. Tasteful, lovely... I didn't particularly like Jennifer Lopez's get up. And Hilary Swank... I was split on that. Catherine Zeta Jones... she looked lovely.
I scored decently on my "Oscar voting ballot" - I correctly guessed over half of the awards at the ceremony. I was pretty impressed, even though others in the room had better accuracy. I enjoyed the Oscar watching party. I went over to Josh, Jonathan, and Robbie's apartment. Lo and behold... Megan Densmore was there! It was lovely seeing her - I've missed hanging out with her and Josh. We ordered pizza, flopped on the couch, and made horrible comments on events of the night. It was fun - I've missed hanging out with them.

Houston thoughts and an early night.
I've... been... doing very little on this Spring Break. While it's a nice change from the hustle and bustle of school life, I have to admit it's slightly... boring.
At least I've been watching a lot of movies. I saw the Ring. Boy, it was full of plot holes and horrible inconsistencies. But it sure was scary.
Ehh, that's about it. I'm liking the slow pace of Houston. But I'm dreading all of the work that I need to accomplish when I get back to Los Angeles.

Last day in LA...
I will be happy if I never see another pizza again in my life.
Pepperoni and pineapple slices are haunting my dreams.
Okay, I've been having problems with food as of late - and pizza is the easiest thing to eat. I don't have any groceries, I don't have the funds to spend a lot of money in the grocery store, and I don't always like taking my car out. So, I walk over to my computer, go online, and voila! Thirty minutes later, I have a steaming fresh pizza pie.
Yeah, I've done that too often. And I can't handle any more. I'm actually looking forward to my mom's cooking!!

Spring break is coming.
It's about time, man. I need to LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAVE.
Okay, that's all. I don't want to talk about school. Too much stress. Argh, argh.

I had an interview for an RA position today. It went... okay. I was super nervous, and it was evident in my answers. I don't understand - under normal circumstances, I'm charming, sweet, witty, and bubbly... but when I get nervous, I clam up.
Oh, well. I'm not too sure I even want to be an RA. There are a lot of drawbacks that I'm not sure I want to deal with. Oh, well. I think I'd rather live with Amy next year. We're supposed to get an awesome set up with the television! Woohoo!

... was enjoyable! I enjoyed my random trip. My group took up two lanes - It was home to Charlie, Samantha, Daniel, Fluffer, Scott, Marisa, Kaity, and Marcus. We had lots of fun - beer, good food, good company. I love how I knew someone that was bowling in every lane.
Pictures are here!
Here's Sam, looking as cute as ever.
Yay for group photos!
Me and Marisa - she's so cute!
Scott... thinking that he's "ghetto"?

God. This weekend was probably one of the laziest times of my life.
All I did was... sleep. Good heavens.

Disco is back.
I'm in a strange mood. Therefore, I'm busy downloading disco classics. Yes, I admit it. I'm a fan of the worst genre of music EVER.
A selection of the songs I downloaded:
Flashlight by George Clinton
I Feel Love by Donna Summer
Le Freak by Chic
Play that Funky Music, White Boy by Wild Cherry
Funkytown by Lipps, Etc.
Ring My Bell by Anita Ward
Disco Inferno by the Tramps
Forget Me Nots by Patrice Rushen
As soon as I get a disco ball and a few polyester threads... just come over to my apartment for a damn good time. Manor #2.

Seamstress.. I am not.
I cannot sew worth a flip. I found this out while repairing the "sign" for our room. I needed to stitch some velco on the back to keep it on the door... but I did the worst job possible at that task. At least the thread's navy, just like the background of the sign.
I'm amazed at my mother's embroidery skills. They're fabulous. I'm jealous - maybe I should take it up.
Evidence of my mom's handiwork - remember this is just something she made at the last minute and put in a care package. I love my mom.

Dang, I'm sunburned. I have huge muscles from pouring Gatorade. And I don't even want to talk about how it took me an hour and 45 minutes to drive from my apartment on Portland to the Wendy's in the UV. But overall, I had a good time.
This is Jenny, my pledgemaster for APO. She was on my side during the majority of the Marathon. Notice the cleanliness of the streets. It doesn't stay that way for long.
Here's Jenn, the partner in crime for the tremendous drive around Los Angeles at 7:15 in the morning. Damn street closings... ::grumble::
These are the APOers on the opposing side of the street. You see, they got to be in the shade for the majority of the race. I feel no pity for them.
And finally, a view of the runners as they pass mile 21. The streets aren't quite so pristine, huh? Trust me, it was even worse at some points during the day.

Evidently Emily does NOT hate me. Which is good. We had dinner at BJ's, then I went to her apartment. This is a picture of her inbetween the two items of decoration - the Harry Potter broom and the dying Christmas tree. I told her that I should light a match near the foliage. She didn't seem amused.
Then Sam called us, begging us to amuse her. So, I suggested Swingers, a fun retro place that tends to overload the senses with orange plaid. It has good food, though. Unfortunately I couldn't eat any because I was stuffed from BJ's. So, I had a milkshake and enjoyed it immensely. Here's Sam and Emily - it's a rare moment when they are NOT tickling each other.
Overall, a satisfying experience, even though I bet Emily's going to embarrass me very soon... keep your mouth shut, Em!
